I grew up on white bread and processed foods. In the last 5+ years I have watched what that sort of diet, and some lack of exercise has done for my parents.
It was time for me to change my habits. I didn't toss out all my food and start over but I gradually introduced better foods and got rid of some bad foods. I gradually eliminated fake sugars (aspartame, splenda etc), got rid of the white bread and reduced the sodas, sweets, fast foods etc.
I started eating more fiber and whole wheat. I always liked fruit but have more of it around for snacking. I find recipes where I can hide oatmeal and flax seed. I switched from milk chocolate to dark chocolate. I started doing yoga; I wanted to exercise but needed to find something low impact because I don't like high impact. It's done a world of good for my body aches and mind.
My interest in my health and getting back to a more natural way of living is what put me in a good position when I started my perimenopausal symptoms. I was in touch with a good chiropractor and yoga instructor who I had spoken with about alternative treatments for other issues. I listened to my intuition about what direction my health needed to go.
I have a passion to assist women to find out what all their options are when it comes to their hormone health.
